FDM 3D Printing Service

ASA — UV Resistant.
Built for Outdoors.

Our ASA 3D printing service India delivers parts engineered to survive the outdoors. Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate (ASA) offers exceptional UV, weather, and thermal resistance — resisting yellowing, embrittlement, and surface degradation that destroys ABS in sunlight. With a 92°C HDT and resistance to both acid and alkali, it is the definitive outdoor FDM material.

About Our ASA 3D Printing Service India — UV & Weather Resistant FDM

ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) is the outdoor-grade evolution of ABS. It replaces the butadiene rubber component of ABS with an acrylate rubber that is far more resistant to UV degradation — the mechanism that causes ABS parts to yellow, become brittle, and fail in sunlight over time. Our ASA 3D printing service India is the right choice for any part that will live outdoors.

With a 92°C heat deflection temperature, ASA handles the thermal cycling of outdoor Indian climates — hot summers, monsoon humidity, and cold-season drops — without dimensional change. Unlike most engineering materials, it is resistant to both acid and alkali, making it suitable for garden, agricultural, and chemical-adjacent environments.

ASA prints smoothly with up to 80% cooling fan, a broad nozzle temperature range of 240–270°C, and high print speeds up to 250 mm/s. It also accepts painting and post-processing well, making it the top choice for UV resistant 3D printing India applications requiring colour-matching or custom finishes.

Not sure ASA is right for your application?

For indoor parts needing higher structural stiffness, PA12-CF or PA6-CF are the right choices. For flexible outdoor parts, TPU 95A offers elasticity but with less UV stability. ASA is specifically the best choice when outdoor longevity + UV stability + good aesthetics are the primary requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

ABS uses butadiene rubber as its impact modifier, which degrades rapidly under UV exposure — causing yellowing, surface chalking, and embrittlement within months outdoors. ASA replaces this with an acrylate rubber that is inherently UV-stable. The result is a material that maintains its colour, surface finish, and mechanical properties for years of direct sun exposure, making it the correct choice for any outdoor application where ABS would fail.
Yes — ASA benefits from a chamber temperature of 45–60°C to prevent warping and layer delamination, similar to ABS. Our FDM machines are fully enclosed with chamber heating. Unlike ABS, ASA supports up to 80% cooling fan which significantly improves overhang quality and bridging. Pre-drying at 80°C for 8 hours is required for optimal results.
Yes — ASA accepts paint very well. Sand with 180–400 grit, apply a filler primer, then use UV-stable exterior paints. Since ASA itself is UV-stable, even unpainted parts hold their colour, but painting allows custom colour matching and can further extend surface life. ASA is one of the easiest FDM materials to paint due to its smooth surface and good adhesion to automotive primers.
ASA is particularly well-suited for Indian outdoor conditions. Its 92°C HDT handles peak summer surface temperatures, its UV resistance handles intense tropical sunlight, and its acid resistance handles monsoon rainfall (which is slightly acidic). The 0.45% water absorption ensures dimensional stability through wet and dry seasons. For rooftop, terrace, garden, or vehicle-mounted applications, ASA is our recommended outdoor FDM material.
ASA has a heat deflection temperature of 92°C at 1.8 MPa and a Vicat softening temperature of 106°C. For outdoor use without direct load, parts can typically withstand surface temperatures up to 90–100°C — sufficient for most outdoor applications including vehicle-mounted parts. For applications near heat sources (engine bay, industrial heat) exceeding 100°C, PA12-CF or PC would be more appropriate.
